LEVEL Motion (www.lvlmotion.com) is a technology start-up firm based out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada with the singular vision of transforming health with movement data. We see a gap in the physical therapy market in that the tools readily available tend to be subjective in nature. While functional surveys and pain is important, they do not mean the same thing to different people and can change from day to day, especially when patients are outside of the clinic.LEVEL Motion is a technology platform. We advocate for standardized data collection in movement sciences by creating smartphone-powered technology to facilitate the kinematic and dynamics based metrics to quantify movement and its related physiological systems. Similar to how family doctors use blood screens to measure patient health, LEVEL facilitates digital methods to run movement assessments and provide personalized feedback and triage. LEVEL Motion is also an education platform. We aim to further movement medicine by creating written, audio, and video media, as well as supporting academic research to both generate grounded science, as well as disseminate concepts regarding movement and other physiological systems. By aiming for an accessible technology and education platform, we wish to support both preventative and keep potential patients out of the healthcare system for as long as possible, but also provide the tooling needed for patients and clinicians alike to bridge the data gap both inside and outside of the clinic.
